Sean Sellers Named to Academic All-MAC Team

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State's Sean Sellers was selected to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team for men's basketball, as announced Tuesday by the league.
A sophomore from Greensburg, Indiana, Sellers is a sport administration major. His 3.576 GPA is the highest of anyone named to the 13-member team.
Sellers came on strong down the stretch this season, averaging 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists over the final 11 games. He matched his career high with 26 points on a career-best seven 3-pointers in Ball State's Feb. 27 win over Eastern Michigan.
For the season, Sellers averaged 6.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He led the MAC in 3-point shooting during conference play at 50 percent.
Sellers helped Ball State to a 21-14 record (10-8 MAC), a share of the MAC West Division championship and a quarterfinal appearance in the CIT. It was the Cardinals' first 20-win season and first postseason appearance since 2001-02.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for their particular sport.
