Fall Action Continues For Women's Tennis At Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Fall tournament action continues for the Cardinals as certain members of the the women's tennis team headed to Purdue to compete at the Boilermakers Fall Invite this weekend.
Both of Ball State's doubles teams split in each of their two matches. The Cardinals twosome of Carmen Blanco and Isabelle Dohanics captured a 6-1 win over Mid-American Conference affiliate Northern Illinois' Evelyn Youel and Meghan Montgomerie. Blanco and Dohanics then dropped their second match of the Black's Doubles Draw to Illinois' Alexis Casati and Daniela Pedraza Novak, 6-2. In the Gold Doubles Draw, Audrey Berger paired up with Julia Sbircea, earning a 7-5 victory over Eastern Kentucky's Laura Argente Escamilla and Viktoria Demcenkova. The twosome dropped their second match of the day to Western Kentucky by a score of 6-4.
In singles play, three Cardinals won in their respective draws, Dohanics defeated Anna Kholodnaya from Bowling Green in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. Blanco registered a two set tie breaker over Kristina Hovsepyan of Maryland, 6-1, 7-6 (2) and teammate Rosalinda Calderondidn't lose a game with her 6-0, 6-0 defeat over Lipscomb's Jaclyn Findlay.
The Ball State women's tennis team will play at Purdue again tomorrow which is an all day event in West Lafayette.
