Denasiha Christian Earns Gymnast of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind.-- Denasiha Christian, a senior member of the Ball State gymnastics team, has been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week.

"Denasiha did an amazing job last week competing on Sunday against Towson University," Ball State head coach Joanna Saleem said. "I'm really excited for her, this is a great honor of which she deserves."

Christian took first place on the vault against Towson with a 9.800 score. In addition, she took first place on the beam and floor, scoring a 9.825.

This marks the third time in her career Christian has won the weekly MAC award.

The Cardinals travel to Normal, Illinois, Friday, January 22 for a tri-meet with Lindenwood and Illinois State. The team returns home Sunday, January 24, for another tri-meet with Eastern Michigan and Illinois State.
