Men's Tennis Competes At Purdue Fall Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team competed at the Purdue Fall Invitational Friday afternoon.
In Flight A singles, Lucas Andersen claimed a three set thriller over Louisville's George Hedley, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (6) and will play in the quarterfinals Saturday. Andrew Stutz competed in the Flight B singles but dropped his match in straight sets to host Purdue's Arthur Dobradin.
Three Cardinals earned victories in Flight C singles. True freshmen Conner Andersen dropped his first set 6-3 to IUPUI Jac Newis but came back to win the match, 6-3, 6-4. Marko Guzina posted a 6-2, 6-1 win over Purdue's Dominik Sochurek. Patrick Downs rounded out the singles victories with a three set win in Flight E.
The Cardinals twosome of Conner Andersen and Collin Rigney won two matches in Flight B doubles after posting wins over University of Indianapolis and Toledo. Andersen and Rigney advanced to the semifinals Saturday and will take on Louisville's George Hedley and Christian Haushammer.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues competition at the Purdue Fall Invitational Saturday with matches beginning at 8 a.m.
