Football Practices In Full Pads Sunday
August 09, 2015 | Football
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State football team practiced in full pads for the first time this fall camp Sunday afternoon at Scheumann Stadium.
“Our situation of the day was coming out where the offense was backed up on its own two-yard line,” Ball State head football coach Pete Lembo said. “It was good to see the first offense break out and move the ball in that situation. We also spent plenty of time on special teams today, as we do most days in our practices. “
PRACTICE SCHEDULE: The Cardinals practice Monday (Aug. 10) under the lights at Scheumann Stadium beginning at 7:15 p.m.
“We will have a little bit more time off our feet before our next practice Monday night,” Lembo said. “That will be our first practice of the preseason where we will actually get a little bit a live contact in at the very end. I wanted to make sure we had a little extra time to make corrections from today and get the guys' legs back underneath them before we have a little more physical practice tomorrow night.”
The Ball State football team will hold its first two-a-day on Wednesday (Aug. 12) at 8:15 a.m. and cap the day off with a night practice beginning at 7:15 p.m. The Cardinals' Thursday (Aug. 13) session will start at 2:15 p.m.
On Friday, the football team will start the morning with an 8:15 a.m. practice before holding its first preseason scrimmage at 7:15 p.m. in Scheumann Stadium.
