MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State women's golf team solidified its roster for the 2015-16 season with the addition of Sydney Anderson from Columbus, Ind.
Anderson was a four-time all-conference selection at Columbus North High School, where she was her team's No. 1 player for the past three seasons. She qualified for the Indiana state tournament three times and was an all-state selection as a senior.
“Sydney is a bright and talented young lady,” Ball State coach Katherine Mowat said. “She will bring great energy and enthusiasm to the team. She is incredibly self-disciplined and has big goals for herself. I know I will enjoy working with her. She is eager to improve, and she is 100 percent committed to making a big impact within the Ball State golf program.”
Anderson managed a career average of 75.3 for her high school career. She holds the Columbus North records for lowest 9-hole average (36.9) and lowest 9-hole score (33).
Anderson owns a variety of wins on the Indiana Golf Tour, including the Hoosier Junior in 2014. She played American Junior Golf Association events and spent time playing on the Plantation Junior Golf Tour, the Golfweek Junior Tour and the All-American Junior Golf Tour.
Also a state qualifier as a doubles player in tennis, Anderson graduated from Columbus North with academic honors. She is enrolled in the Honors College at Ball State.
