Football Holds Last Two-A-Day Practice
August 19, 2015 | Football
MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State football team held its last two-a-day of preseason camp Tuesday at Scheumann Stadium.
The Cardinals worked for two hours during the morning session in full pads and concentrated on two-point conversion plays during their team periods. Tonight's practice also ran 120 minutes in full pads with referees on hand for the first time during fall camp.
Tonight's team drills focused on fourth down territory and overtime situations. The defense did a good job of stopping the running game during all four sessions. The first team offense managed one touchdown on the night after quarterback Jack Milas connected on a short pass to wide receiver Aaron Hepp.
The second team offense had more success finding the end zone as freshman quarterback Riley Neal threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to redshirt freshman wide receiver Devin Reece. Neal also had a rushing touchdown and later in the practice hit Reece again for his third TD of the night.
The Ball State football team will not practice Wednesday, as the Cardinals will spend part of the day helping the freshmen move into the residence halls before they lift and meet with their position coaches. The Cardinals will resume practice Thursday at 2:15 p.m.
