Field Hockey Roster Adds Two International Players
July 27, 2015 | Field Hockey
MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State field hockey head coach Sally Northcroft has announced that two international student-athletes have signed with the Cardinals, including Anya Eicher (Victoria, Australia/Boort Hockey Club) and Isabella Kok (Amsterdam, Netherlands/Almeerse Hockey Club). Both players will join the Cardinals for the fall 2015 season.
Eicher, a native of Boort, Victoria, completed her senior season at Boort District School with a 4.0 GPA. Playing as a center half back under head coach Brooke Chamberlain, Eicher and her team won three consecutive Women's Grand Final championships. Last year, Boort produced an undefeated season and Eicher was named MVP by both the North Central Hockey Association and Boort Hockey Club. Eicher, who served as a captain on the women's club, also played in men's competition where she helped the team reach the championship game of the Grand Final this past season.
Kok, a native of Almere, Netherlands, should be an offensive threat for the Cardinals. The forward has participated in both indoor and outdoor field hockey at the Almeerse Hockey Club since the age of eight.
The 2015 Ball State field hockey team opens its season on Saturday, Aug. 29 when the Cardinals travel to Piscataway, N.J. to take on Rutgers.
