Football Alumni Golf Outing Proves Successful
June 09, 2015 | Football
Ball State football held its annual Ray Louthen Alumni Golf Outing June 5 at the Elks Golf Course in Muncie, Ind., and over 100 golfers played in the event.
Included in the group were former Ball State head football coaches Dwight Wallace, Paul Schudel, Bill Lynch and Brady Hoke. The event also highlighted a celebration for the 1993 team that won the Mid-American Conference and played in the Las Vegas Bowl.
“We had a wonderful afternoon and evening at the Elks Golf Club last Friday,” Ball State head coach Pete Lembo said. “The turnout of former players and coaches was fantastic and the fellowship was even better. We had Ball State teams represented from the 1965 Grantland Rice Bowl group all the way through the 2013 Go Daddy Bowl squad. Football alumni returned from as far away as California, Arizona and Texas to see former teammates and coaches. We have worked hard to create a culture of inclusion and transparency around the program. Alumni events like this one are evidence the plan is working.”
Under Lembo's direction, Ball State will open the 2015 football season Thurs., Sept. 3 vs. VMI in Scheumann Stadium.
