Football's Coach Lembo Selected to Top 15 by Athlon

Ball State head football coach Pete Lembo has been selected one of 15 college football "Coaches on the Rise" by Athlon Sports.
"Pete Lembo, Ball StateThe seven losses suffered by Ball State in 2014 were the most in Lembo's coaching tenure, but the New York native is still one of the top coaches in the Group of 5 ranks. Lembo is 30-20 in four years with the Cardinals, including a 10-3 mark in 2013. Ball State also has two bowl appearances under Lembo. Prior to coming to Muncie, Lembo went 35-22 at Elon and 44-14 at Lehigh, with three combined FCS playoff appearances among the two programs." - According to Athlon Magazine
Lembo is the first Ball State head coach in the school's history to win 30 games in his first four seasons at the helm. His .600 winning percentage is the second best among Ball State head coaches through their first four seasons at the school, and he has led the Cardinals to two bowl game appearances in his four years.
Lembo has guided the Cardinals to wins over Virginia, South Florida and Indiana twice in his four seasons to become one of only six Mid-American Conference head coaches since the advent of the Bowl Championship Series to have won four or more games against teams from leagues previously identified as automatic qualifying conferences.
Ball State will open the 2015 season Thurs., Sept. 3, vs. VMI in Scheumann Stadium in Muncie, Ind. The 7 p.m. game will be carried live by ESPN3 and the Ball State Radio Network.
