Soccer Program Adds Six More for 2015

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State soccer program has added six more newcomers to its roster for the upcoming 2015 season.
The group joins eight newcomers who signed with the coach Craig Roberts' program in February to give the Cardinals a total of 14 new faces this fall.
Ball State begins its schedule Aug. 21 at Jacksonville State and will play its home opener Aug. 28 against Wright State at the Briner Sports Complex.

High School: Lettered four years at New Albany High School for coach Chad Schuler … led her team in scoring as a freshman and as a junior … a three-time All-Ohio Capital Conference selection -- first team twice and second team once … first-team all-district as a junior and third-team as a freshman … helped lead her team to a conference championship in 2012 … played club soccer for Ohio Premier and coach Alan Yost … her club team was ranked among the top 20 in the Great Lakes Region.

Montclair, N.J./Montclair HS/Pittsburgh
At Pittsburgh: Spent her first two collegiate seasons at Pittsburgh … saw action in 17 games on the back line in her career with the Panthers … earned three starting assignments ... logged 690 minutes on the field during her Pittsburgh career.
High School: A four-year letterwinner at Montclair High School for coaches Rob McOmish and Chris Johnson … named the New Jersey State Player of the Year as a senior … a two-time all-state selection (first team as a senior and second team as a junior) … also a three-time all-conference, three-time all-group and four-time all-county honoree … played center back … led the Mounties to the New Jersey group sectional title, an Essex County championship and 18-3-3 record with 13 shutouts as a senior in 2012 … limited opponents to one goal or fewer in 20 of 24 matches as a senior … led her team to the New Jersey group sectional championship, Essex County regular season and tournament titles and 22-1-1 record as a junior … began her career as a midfielder and scored six goals as a freshman … played for the Montclair United Bluehawks from 2003-07 … played with the SDFC Lynx and helped the team to a state cup, a trip to regionals, the Jefferson Cup title and a spot in the US Club nationals in Virginia Beach, Va. … also played for Match Fit Chelsea … also played varsity lacrosse at Montclair and served as team captain.

Personal: Full name is Lauren Dean Lerew… daughter of John and Leslie Lerew…has one sister, Arletta… born Feb. 13, 1997 in Aurora, Colo. … intends to study engineering.

She has the ability to defend and attack. Her technical and tactical skills are going to contribute to the midfield this season. In addition, she has a great shot which will be a threat for any defense.”
Kristen Molloy, Defender
Auckland, New Zealand/Baradene College
High School: Played for coach Grant Machin at Baradene College ... a central defender ... co-captain of her team as a senior ... named to the All-National Secondary School Team as a junior ... two-time recipient of her school's Gold Award ... helped her team win the Grant Jarvis Trophy as champion of the National Secondary Schools Tournament in 2012 and 2014 ... helped her team to the Auckland Under 19 Girls Premier 2 KO Cup title in 2014 ... also played for Three Kings Senior Women's Premier and coaches Alan Hindson and Kirsty Hill ... captained her Three Kings Under 17 team and won the National Under 17 club Tournament in 2013 ... has international experience, competing for New Zealand's Under 17 and Under 20 teams ... also played for the Auckland senior women's team in the New Zealand National Women's League.
