MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State women's tennis head coach Max Norris announced the signing of Audrey Berger (Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) to play at Ball State in 2015-16.
Berger joins early signees Peyton Gollhofer (Cartersville, Ga./Laurel Springs Academy) and Isabelle Dohanics (Cranberry Township, Pa./North Catholic Central).
"I am excited to have Audrey Berger join the Ball State program," Norris said. "She brings a wealth of experience in her junior tennis career, which includes a Division I state doubles title in Ohio in 2014 for Upper Arlington. Coached by Brian Heil and Shaun Stamps, Audrey is a smart and versatile tennis player. She will make an immediate impact for us in doubles and singles. In addition to her playing ability, Audrey is a great person and a team player. She is well respected for the way she supports her teammates and she comes from a great high school program in Upper Arlington High School. “
Berger, a senior at Upper Arlington, is a four-star recruit according to Tennisrecruiting.net. On Oct. 18, Berger alongside doubles partner Kyra Jung earned the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I girls' doubles state title. Berger and Jung went 11-1 in postseason play in 2014, including a sectional championship.
A four-year letterwinner, Berger has also had success on the United State Tennis Association summer circuit. She was the USTA Midwest level 3 back draw champion last June and made it to the semi-finals of the back draw at the Midwest level 2 in July.
The daughter of Brian and Priscilla Berger, Audrey plans to major in a business related field at Ball State.
