Women?s Swim & Dive Celebrate Seasonal Awards

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's swimming and diving team celebrated numerous awards and accomplishments at the annual year-end team banquet. Over 100 people were in attendance as individual athletic and academic awards were presented to the team at the Ball State Alumni Center.
2014-15 team co-captain Carlena Magley earned a Student-Athlete award for marking a 4.0 GPA in both 2014 spring and fall semesters, as well as the swimming Strength and Conditioning Award. Audrey Rodawig also won a Student-Athlete award for posting a 4.0 GPA in both the 2014 spring and fall semesters, while Brittany Penn earned the Strength and Conditioning Award for the divers.
Magley's 2014-15 co-captain Leighann Mattson helped announce the captains for the upcoming 2015-16 season, including Sydney Harris and Madie Zirzow. Zirzow, Elaine Pitsas and Courtney Mudd were also honored for their service as the 2014-15 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representatives.
Other awards included the Newcomer of the Year, which was presented to freshman Traci Muszalski, as well as several scholarship awards. Kimberly Scott was named as the David and Sandy Spade Family Scholarship recipient, while Katie Horn earned the Cathy Somenzi Memorial Scholarship.
