MUNCIE, Ind. - For the first time this season, the Ball State women's tennis team No. 1 doubles tandem of Courtney Earnest and Rosalinda Calderon were named the Mid-American Conference Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.
"Rosa and Courtney had a great win on the road over a good Western Michigan team," Ball State head women's tennis coach Max Norris said. "They continue to get better as a team and I'm excited to see what they can do from here on out."
Calderon and Earnest started MAC play after notching a 6-1 win over Western Michigan's doubles duo of Meika Ashby and Caroline Aleck on court one. At Toledo, the twosome was competing hard against Emily Mazzola and Lexy Pitt, only trailing 5-4 but the match went unfinished. Earnest and Calderon's win at Western Michigan marked their seventh win in eight matches.
The Ball State women's tennis team hosts Akron Sunday in Mid-American Conference action at 1 p.m. at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
