Women's Tennis Duo Earns National Ranking

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis No. 1 doubles duo of Rosalinda Calderon and Courtney Earnest have been ranked 76th in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll.
Calderon and Earnest own a 10-0 overall record which includes a 5-0 start in Mid-American Conference action. The Ball State twosome is the first duo to earn an ITA national ranking. The ITA began computing singles and doubles national rankings in 2002. Calderon and Earnest are currently the only doubles team ranked from the MAC.
The twosome also earned MAC Doubles Team of the Week honors for the second time this season after posting wins over Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan last week.
The Ball State women's tennis team will host a doubleheader Friday against Bowling Green (1 p.m.) and IUPUI (5 p.m.) at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
