Men's Swim & Dive Rounds Out Day Two Competition

GENEVA, Ohio - The Ball State men's swim and dive team sits in seventh place with 42 points after Thursday's events at the 2015 Mid-American Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by the SPIRE Institute.
Senior Joseph Morris had Ball State's highest finish on the day, with a 1:49.96 time for seventh place in the 200 IM. Morris finished fifth in the prelims with a time of 1:49.31.
Sophomore Cole Smith added to the top Cardinal finishes when he finished 14th in the finals of the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.84. This is an improvement from Smith's 2014 MAC Championship time of 20.94.
The final top 16 finish for the Cardinals came when freshman Isaac Walling rounded out 16th place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:44.16. Walling finished in 15th in prelims with a time of 4:42.14.
Eastern Michigan currently holds 266.50 points, along with Missouri State and Southern Illinois at 236 and 219 points respectively, to round out the top three spots on the leader board heading into day three of MAC Championships.
The Cardinals return to the SPIRE Institute tomorrow morning for preliminary sessions starting at 11 a.m., followed final swims at 7 p.m.
