Football Kicks Off Spring Practice
March 24, 2015 | Football
Ball State's football team kicked off its Spring Practice Tuesday as it continues preparations for the season opener Thursday, Sept. 3 vs. VMI.
The Cardinals' spring practices will culminate Saturday, April 18 with the annual Spring Game.
Fifth-year head coach Pete Lembo is the first in Ball State history to win 30 games in his first four seasons at the helm. His .600 winning percentage is the second best among Ball State head coaches through their first four seasons.
Lembo will welcome back the services of 48 lettermen, including 19 starters from the 2014 team that finished 5-7 overall and 4-4 in the Mid-American Conference. The Cardinals return 12 starters on offense, including its entire offensive line and a pair of quarterbacks that started two games apiece last year. Defensively, Ball State returns seven starters, while the team's top punter and long snapper from a year ago also return.
After the 2015 season opener, Ball State will host games on four Saturdays in October, including Homecoming Oct. 3 vs. Toledo and Family Weekend Oct. 24.
All of Ball State's spring practices are open to the public. The complete schedule is available on www.ballstatesports.com, and you can call the football office at 765.285.8251 for the latest updates.
