Women?s Golf Improves on Day 2 in Florida

DUNNELLON, Fla. -- The Ball State women's golf team climbed a couple spots on the leaderboard Monday with a second-round 308 at the Ocala Spring Invitational hosted by Morehead State.
Kelsey Sear led the way for the Cardinals on day two with a 2-over par round of 74. The team also counted a 77 from Meghan McDougall, a 78 from Jenna Hague and a 79 from Mary Ellen Romero.
Ball State moved into 14th place with a two-day total of 628 at Juliette Falls Resort.
Daytona State moved to the top of the leaderboard, firing the low round of the tournament with a 291 to bring its 36-hole score to 596 (+20). Six teams are within five shots of the lead, including Elon and South Dakota State just one shot back.
Sear climbed into a tie for 46th as Ball State's top player on the individual leaderboard at 154 (+10) through two rounds. Hague owns a two-day total of 159, Romero 160, McDougall 164 and Morgan Nadaline 166.
Ji Sun Kang of Daytona State is in first place at 141 (-3), while Giulia Vandenberg of Stetson is one shot back. They are the only two players under par.
The tournament's third and final round will be played Tuesday with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start.
