Andersen Earns MAC Tennis Player Of The Week Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. - Sophomore Lucas Andersen of the Ball State men's tennis team earned Mid-American Conference Tennis Singles Player of the Week, the conference office announced Thursday.
Andersen started the week with a 7-6, 6-0 victory over IUPUI's Jac Newis on the top court. The match over Newis helped the Cardinals to a 5-2 come from behind win over the Jaguars. Andersen then closed out the week at No. 30 Indiana. He was in his third set with Daniel Bednarcyk on court two before the match went unfinished. Andersen has improved to 14-12 overall on the season and 8-6 in dual action.
The Ball State men's tennis team will continue its non-conference action on the road Saturday when it plays at Illinois State at 1 p.m. in Normal, Ill. After that, the Cardinals return home for their first Mid-American Conference competition of the season, when Ball State hosts Toledo Friday, March 27 at 1 p.m. in the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
