Baseball's Elbert Devarie Earns MAC Weekly Award

Elbert Devarie, a senior on the Ball State baseball team, has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week.
Devarie led Ball State to four wins – one over Miami University and three at Dayton – last week as the Cardinals improved to 11-7 on the season. Devarie hit .467 with six runs-batted-in in the four-game stretch, including a three-run home run in the eighth inning Saturday to clinch the win over Dayton.
After starting only 11 games last season, Devarie has started all 18 contests in 2015. He has started eight games in left field, three games in center field, three games at shortstop, three games at third base and one game at second base. Devarie, who ranks 44th in the nation with 29 hits, leads the team with three home runs.
