Lindley Leads Women?s Golf on Day 1 in Arizona

RIO VERDE, Ariz. -- Allison Lindley shot a 3-over par 75 to lead the Ball State women's golf team in Friday's opening round at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational.
Lindley is tied for 21st place on the individual leaderboard. The 54-hole tournament continues with round two Saturday on the White Wing Course at Rio Verde Country Club.
Ball State is in 17th place as a team after opening with a score of 318. Seton Hall leads the way at 296 (+8), followed by Ohio at 299 (+11).
Seton Hall's Erin McClure leads the tournament after a round of 71 (-1). She is the only player under par.
In addition to Lindley's 75, Ball State also counted a trio of 81s in Friday's round from Karley Dobis, Jenna Hague and Meghan McDougall.
Kelsey Sear rounded out the Cardinals' lineup with an 83, while Mary Ellen Romero -- competing as an individual -- turned in the second-best score of any Ball State player with a 78.
