All-Access: Nathalie Fontaine's Rise to the Top
March 11, 2015 | Women's Basketball
Junior Nathalie Fontaine has taken a long road to Muncie...okay, maybe it was a plane ride. But it was long. Coming from Stockholm Sweden meant a little bit of a culture shock upon arriving in the American midwest, in the confines of #BradyBall, and in the Ball State women's basketball program.
Even so, Fontaine was an immeiate contributor for the Cardinals. She helped carry a team of seven to the WNIT's final 16. She was Mid-American Conference Freshman-of-the-Year and as a sophomore was all-conference second team.
But how good was Fontaine really? Good enough, for sure. But could she be great? This season has seen Fontaine start to make that leap, transforming from a solid piece into one of the MAC's elite players and one of the best Ball State's ever seen.
Check out this video from Ball State All-Access to discover more about Fontaine's transformation.
The Cardinals are next in action Friday in the Mid-American Conference Tournament semi-finals. Coverage of the game can be found on the radio at 102.9 FM and 1340 AM FOX Sports Radio in Muncie. The game will be televised on Comcast 81.
