Gymnastics Team Travels to Illinois State Monday

Ball State's gymnastics team fresh off a victory over Northern Illinois Friday night will travel to Illinois State for a non-conference meet Monday.
The Cardinals improved to 2-3 in the Mid-American Conference with a 194.200 to 193.225 win over NIU at Ball State's Senior Night Meet Friday. Behind a school record 49.100 on the vault, Ball State rallied to the win with an outstanding floor performance in the team's final event. The floor score of 48.950 was the second best for the Cardinals this year.
Monday's meet will be at 7 p.m. at the Horton Field House against an Illinois State team that is 2-6 overal and 1-4 in the Midwest Independent Conference.
In Ball State's last meet, Denasiha Christian won the vault with a career high 9.875, while also tying for first on the floor with a 9.825 with teammates Kayla Beckler and Erin Patchey. Baylee Bell won the balance beam with a career-high tying 9.800, and Beckler won the all-around with a 38.425 mark.
Ball State will return to MAC action Sunday, March 8, in a meet at Kent State.
