February 16, 2015 | Women's Golf
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- The final round of the Delta Gamma Challenge was canceled Tuesday because of increased wind chill temperatures and winds that were high enough to move golf balls on the greens.
The Ball State women's golf team finished 14th with its two-round total of 634 from the previous day. The event, hosted by Texas State at Landa Park Golf Club, was the first of the spring for the Cardinals.
Idaho and UALR finished tied atop the team leaderboard at 575, but Idaho claimed first place based on the tiebreaker, best fifth-golfer score. Lora Assad of Texas State, Sabrina Bonanno of UALR and Aislynn Merling of Youngstown State shared individual medalist honors at 140.
Allison Lindley posted the best finish for Ball State with a 36-hole score of 155. She was followed in the lineup by Meghan McDougall (158), Karley Dobis (160), Jenna Hague (164) and Kelsey Sear (164). Morgan Nadaline (172) competed as an individual.
The tournament featured six of the top 100 teams in the Golfstat national rankings.
Ball State returns to action March 1-3 at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic in Kiawah Island, S.C.
