Red Defeats White, 11-9, In Gymnastics Exhibition
December 14, 2015 | Gymnastics
“It was a really fun day to come out, we had more people ready to compete today then we have had in the past,” head coach Joanna Saleem said. “It was really encouraging to see the girls perform what they have been practicing in a new venue and in front of a energetic crowd. After today's performance, we still have some things to work on, but I am excited as the season progresses.”
The white team started out strong by opening with a 3-2 victory on vault. But the red team won over the judge's hearts and evened the score with a victory on the uneven bars.
Several more strong performances helped the red team take the lead on the balance beam. Continuing their rein, the red team sealed the win on the floor exercise.
Ball State will officially open its 2016 season Jan. 8, when they travel to Kentucky. Be sure to support your Ball State Cardinals when they return to Worthen Arena Jan. 17 against Towson University.
