WVB Places Six on Academic All-MAC Squad

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Six members of the Ball State women's volleyball program were named to the 2015 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Women's Volleyball Team as announced by the league office Wednesday.
Student-athletes with a 3.20 grade-point average who participate in at least 50 percent of their team's matches are named to the squad. First-year players and junior college transfers are not eligible.
Four Cardinals were named to the Academic All-MAC squad for the second consecutive season, led by senior setter Jenna Spadafora (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) who finished her career as a two-time First Team All-MAC selection and ranked sixth in program history with 2,876 career assists. Other two-time award winners include senior libero Kati Vasalakis (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown), senior middle Amanda Raker (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian/Butler) and redshirt junior outside attacker Mackenzie Kitchel (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove/Cincinnati).
Ball State's two first-time award winners were sophomore outside attacker/defensive specialist Bailey Baumer (Batesville, Ind./Bateville) and sophomore right side Jessica Lindsey (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East).
The Ball State women's volleyball team ended the 2015 season with a 15-17 overall record, including an 8-8 record in league play. The Cardinals defeated Buffalo in the opening round of the 2015 MAC Tournament, before ending its season with a loss to Kent State in the quarterfinals.
