November 20, 2015 | Field Hockey
CLEVELAND, Ohio – A total of 68 student-athletes have been named to the Field Hockey Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, announced Thursday. The list includes 10 Cardinals, as well as sophomore Carley Shannon, who posted a 4.0 grade point average.
Just four student-athletes registered perfect 4.0 GPAs; including Shannon who studies Exercise Science, Kent State's Ines Delpech in sociology, Miami's Kelsi White in Political Science and East Asian Languages and Culture, and Missouri State's Jessi Pope in Psychology.
Missouri State leads the conference with 13 student-athletes receiving honors. Central Michigan and Longwood followed close behind, with 11 honorees each.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
