Pete Lembo Press Conference - Bowling Green Week
November 20, 2015 | Football
Thoughts on last week's game at Ohio …
To wrap up Ohio, I thought they were a very solid team. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the job that they do. We were competitive in the game, but I think we could have been a lot more competitive. I thought we were certainly capable, if we would have played our best football, to make it an interesting game. The offensive performance definitely showed some promise.”
Some positives from the season …
Special teams has been a highlight of the season. It has been a steady and productive part of our football team. Even during a tough season, I think we have shown that we can be one of the best special team units in the league.
Any younger players standing out …
You always look for younger guys to start to emerge and make their presence felt over the course of the year. Jeremiah Jackson is a guy who has done a great job on special teams for us all year. Spencer Gilbert is a walk-on reserve running back who has been productive for us on a couple units and it's good to see those things happen.
Looking ahead to Bowling Green …
Bowling Green is having an outstanding year. They are a terrific football team and a lot of fun to watch. Matt Johnson is having a fantastic year at quarterback. He's tearing it up both in terms of the conference and nationally. The underrated part of their offensive is their running game. They are equally effective on the ground and they do a good job of staying balanced. Watching them this year, they are a much better defensive unit. They just get overshadowed because of this explosive offense.
