WBB Hosts Miami In MAC Home Opener Wednesday

- Ball State is coming off of a much-needed road win Saturday, when it defeated Bowling Green 62-50 in its first Mid-American Conference game of the season. The win against the Falcons was the first time the Cardinals had defeated Bowling Green on the road in MAC regular season since 2003-04. The Cardinals scored 23 points off of the Falcons 19 turnovers while adding 36 points to Bowling Green's 20 points in the paint. Ball State has out shot all but four of its opponents this season, including a 45.8 to 32.7 advantage at Bowling Green. Rennee Bennett led Ball State in scoring tying her career-high with a 14-point performance. Nathalie Fontaine and Jill Morrison each contributed 12-points to the Cardinals' victory. Fontaine also led the Cardinals defensively with seven rebounds. Ball State returns Worthen Arena for the first time since Dec. 15. The Cardinals will play thier first MAC home game Wednesday when Ball State welcomes Miami to Worthen Arena for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
- Miami enters Wednesday's contest with a 3-9 overall record and a 0-1 start to Mid-American Conference action. The RedHawks suffered a 63-53 loss at Toledo Saturday. Miami closed non-conference action at home with a 59-58 win over Davidson, Dec. 29. The RedHawks also have wins over Cincinnati Christian (75-53) and Valparaiso (82-59).
- Wednesday's game against Miami will mark the 62nd time in program history the two schools have met with the Cardinals leading the all-time series 41-20. The last time Ball State beat Maimi was Feb. 20, 2014 in Millett Hall by a score of 80-70. In 2012-13 Ball State faced Miami in its MAC opener in Worthen Arena resulting in a 62-59 victory for the Cardinals.
