All-Access: Monaco Carving Own Path at Ball State
January 29, 2015 | Women's Basketball
Basketball runs in the bloodlines of the Monaco family, that's for sure. Ball State freshman Moriah Monaco is one of many in her family to find a home on the hardwood, now making a name for herself inside Worthen Arena. Check out this Ball State All-Access feature for her complete story.
All three of Monaco's siblings play sports, her older brother Anthony being a basketball player at Northern Kentucky. Moriah's father played baseball at Kent State and her grandfather is legendary basketball coach Charlie Huggins. Yes, that makes one of her uncles West Virginia coach Bob Huggins.
But here's the thing, you really wouldn't know any of that unless you asked. See Monaco's family history in basketball isn't something she really flaunts or talks about all that much. It's more about Moriah being herself and carving her own path here at Ball State.
The Cardinals return to the hardwood Saturday, January 31st, inside Worthen Arena against the Northern Illinois Huskies. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00pm.
