Toy Drive, Military/Public Safety Day Set for Dec. 6
December 04, 2014 | Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
The Ball State men's and women's basketball programs, in partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, will be hosting Toys for Tots Military and Public Safety Appreciation Day presented by the Muncie Visitors Bureau on Dec. 6 at Worthen Arena.
The Cardinals men's basketball team is scheduled to host Indiana State at 2 p.m. while the Ball State women's basketball team welcomes Oakland 30 minutes following the conclusion of the men's game.
Any individual who presents a valid military or public safety I.D. will receive a complimentary admission for the doubleheader, while each fan who brings a toy to donate will receive a specially-priced $10 general admission ticket good for both games.
Ball State students are encouraged to participate, as well, with 50 student rewards bonus points accumulated with a donated toy.
Fans may drop off their donated toys inside the ground level lobby of Gate 1 at Worthen Arena beginning at 1 p.m. on game day. Toys will be accepted until 5 p.m. Those unable to attend the game may drop off a donated toy at the same location on Friday, Dec. 5, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
Fans with questions should call the Ball State marketing office at 765-285-3242.
