The Ball State men's basketball team returns to action Sunday after a week-long holiday break to host Longwood in its final game of the 2014 calendar year.
The Cardinals (3-6) have been off since a Dec. 20 loss at 17th-ranked San Diego State and will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak as Mid-American Conference play nears.
Longwood (4-8) also last played on Dec. 20. The Lancers defeated Penn State Beaver to snap a three-game losing streak of their own. Sunday's game is their final contest before the start of Big South Conference play.
Sunday will mark the first time the Cardinals and the Lancers have met in men's basketball. Longwood has already played a pair of MAC opponents this season, falling on the road to both Eastern Michigan and Miami.
Following Sunday's game, Ball State will have one final tune-up for MAC play when it hosts Bethune-Cookman on Jan. 3. The Cardinals then play their first league game the following week on the road at Eastern Michigan.
