Field Hockey Coach Beth Maddox Resigns Position
December 10, 2014 | Field Hockey
Ball State field hockey head coach Beth Maddox has resigned from the program after five seasons, according to Brian Hardin, interim director of athletics. A national search for her replacement will begin immediately.
“We want to thank Coach Maddox for her dedication to our field hockey program over the last five seasons and wish her well in the future,” Hardin said. “We are excited for this next chapter of our field hockey's program and are greatly optimistic about our future.”
Maddox posted a 25-56 record during her tenure at Ball State, including an 8-28 mark in Mid-American Conference play. Her teams appeared in two MAC Tournaments and had seven student-athletes named to all-conference teams.
Maddox was named the sixth field hockey head coach in Ball State history March 12, 2010. A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Maddox graduated with a degree in communications from Old Dominion, where she was a four-year letterwinner for the field hockey team. She then went on to serve as an assistant coach at Colgate for three seasons before coming to Ball State.
