October 06, 2014 | Softball
MUNCIE, Ind. - - Saturday will be a special day for the Ball State softball program, as members of the 2014 team will be presented with their Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship rings in a special ceremony at halftime of the football game at Scheumann Stadium.
The Ball State softball program will also host an alumni tailgate party starting at 12:30 p.m. at the BSU Softball Complex, leading up to the 3 p.m. kickoff of football's homecoming game versus Western Michigan.
Last spring, the Cardinals captured the program's fifth MAC regular season title in the last six years by posting a 12-4 record in league play under 2014 MAC Coach of the Year Tyra Perry. Ball State boasted a 33-19 overall record on the year, including a 3-0 victory at then-No. 3 Arizona State (March 2, 2014), marking the highest-ranked opponent the Cardinals have defeated since a 2-1 victory at then-No. 3 Missouri (March 19, 2010).
