A six-time career MAC Player of the Week award winner, earning offensive honors five times and defensive accolades once, Benson helped the Cardinals post a 1-1 record last weekend with a 3-1 loss to Ohio Friday and a 3-0 sweep of Kent State Saturday.
Over the two matches, Benson led the Ball State attack with 22 kills and a .512 (22-0-43) attack percentage. She averaged a team-high 3.14 kills per set and tallied six total blocks for a 0.89 per set average.
In Saturday's win over Kent State, Benson tied for match-high honors with 12 kills while equaling her career-high with a .667 (12-0-18) attack percentage. On day earlier, she smashed 10 kills and hit a team-best .400 (10-0-25) versus Ohio. Benson also collected three total blocks in each match and added four digs versus the Bobcats.
Benson enters the week ranked first in the MAC in league-only matches with a .475 (107-13-198) attack percentage, while her 3.34 kills-per-set average in MAC-only contests is fourth. For the year, Benson ranks second in the league with a .368 (230-52-484) attack percentage and leads the Ball State attack with a 2.74 kills-per-set average.
The Ball State women's volleyball team returns to the road this weekend with matches at Miami (Friday) and Bowling Green (Saturday). Both contests are set for 7 p.m. first serves.
