Softball Opens Fall Slate Saturday Against Taylor

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Ball State softball fans will get their first glimpse of the new-look Cardinals Saturday, when the team opens its fall slate with an 11 a.m. doubleheader versus Taylor at the BSU Softball Complex.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Tyra Perry, the Cardinals return a majority of the 2013 squad which captured the program's fourth Mid-American Conference regular season title in the past five years.
Leading the squad on the field this season is a well-decorated group of seniors which includes: Jennifer Gilbert, Taylor Rager, Audrey Bickel and Lauren Schroeder.
Following Saturday's home twinbill, the Cardinals are slated to play in the State Farm Illinois Collegiate Softball Championship (Sept. 21-22) and in Louisville, Ky. (Oct. 5).
