GEORGETOWN, Ontario -- Ball State women's golfer Sarah Westaway tied for 19th place last week at the PGA Women's Championship of Canada.
Westaway, who finished 2-over par for the tournament, posted the second-lowest score among amateurs in the field at The Club at North Halton.
The 36-hole tournament featured 108 professional and amateur golfers. Westaway was in the top 10 through round one after opening with a 1-under 71. She turned in a second-round 75 to finish the two-day event at 2-over.
Westaway will be a senior this coming season at Ball State. Her 2012-13 season was highlighted by a tie for second place at the Angola Shootout, which led to her being named Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week. She was also an Academic All-MAC honorable mention selection.
Last month, Westaway reached the semifinals of the Toronto Star Women's Amateur.
