Women's Tennis Suffers 4-3 Loss at Cleveland State

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis lost a competitive 4-3 match to Cleveland State Sunday afternoon at the Paramount Tennis Club. With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 7-5 on the season.
In doubles play, Bethany Moore and Kristel Sanders finished first pulling off the 8-2 victory over the Vikings Maria Lazaris and Nicole Janek at the No. 2 spot. At the No. 1 position, the twosome of Courtney Wild and Courtney Earnest took down Alex Bush and Kara Sherwood 8-4 claiming the doubles point for the Cardinals.
After that, Ball State fell at the No. 6, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 2 positions which put Cleveland State ahead by a score of 4-1. Bethany Moore won in three sets at No. 4 singles after beating Kara Sherwood. Wild also managed a three set defeat at the No. 1 spot over Mathilde Orange.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues non-conference action Monday, March 4 at noon in Orlando, Florida against James Madison.
