Earnest, Wild Earn Wins In Tennis Loss at Marquette

Milwaukee, Wis. - The Ball State women's tennis team dropped to 7-3 on the season after suffering a 5-2 road loss at Marquette Sunday afternoon.
The Cardinals lost all three of their doubles matches and would enter singles play down 1-0 to Marquette. At No. 3 doubles, Lauren Pickrel and Paola Rodriguez almost beat Aina Hernandez and Aleeza Kanner by a score of 8-7 (7-5).
In singles action, Courtney Wild captured a straight set victory over Ana Pimienta winning 6-3, 6-3. Courtney Earnest dropped her first set at the No. 2 position to Rocio Diaz but came back to win the match 6-7 (7-2), 6-3, 10-5. With the wins Earnest improves to 9-1 on the season while Wild owns an 8-2 singles mark.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues non-conference action on the road Saturday against Youngstown State. The match will be played in Cleveland, Ohio at 5 p.m.
