November 21, 2013 | Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State men's and women's swimming and diving team will host the 10th annual Doug Coers Invitational Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Lewellen Aquatic Center. Ball State will welcome the University of Findlay and Grand Valley State University.
The two-day event begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 and there will be two sessions on Saturday at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Diving will run concurrently with the swimming events on Friday and will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Last season the women's team earned the title after capturing 867 points. The women's squad earned a win in every event on the second day of competition. The men's team finished second with 701 points and six individual and one relay win on the final day.
Grand Valley is No. 1 in the Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com Division II Top 25 poll. This marks the second-straight week that the Lakers are at the top of Division II. The University of Findlay is 0-4 on the year.
The meet is named after the late Doug Coers, a four-year member of the Ball State men's swimming and diving team (1986-1989). Coers also coached at Catalina Swim Club, Cardinal Swim Club and the Central High School girls' team.
Live stats are available and the event is open and free to the public. Check ballstatesports.com for results and recaps.
