September 17, 2012 | Football
Steven Schott, a senior placekicker for the Ball State football team, has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week.
Schott nailed a 42-yard field goal as time expired to secure a 41-39 win at Indiana Saturday, which marked the third consecutive win against Indiana for Ball State.
Schott also connected on his second field goal of 50 yards or more when he hit a 51-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Schott hit all five of his extra point attempts to extend his PAT streak to 50, the second longest in Ball State history behind only Ian McGarvey's 63.
Ball State hosts South Florida Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Scheumann Stadium.
