Women's Basketball Adds Fontaine to 2012-13 Roster

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State head women's basketball coach Brady Sallee has announced the addition of Nathalie Fontaine to the 2012-13 roster.
"This is a big day for our women's basketball program at Ball State University," said Sallee. "To start our tenure here in Muncie with a player of Nathalie Fontaine's stature is extremely exciting. She has played at the highest levels of competition internationally and her game shows it. She is an extremely versatile wing and fits perfectly into our system. I look forward to seeing Nathalie grow as a player, student and person. I cannot think of a better place for her to succeed than at Ball State."
Fontaine, a native of Stockholm, Sweden has represented her country on the Swedish National team from 2008-11. She helped Sweden win the bronze medal in u17 European Championships in 2009. Fontaine averaged 7.0 points per game, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 2011.
She won the 2009 Scania Queen award which is represented to the best player in Scandinavia. Fontaine was asked to attend the 2010 FIBA camp which is for the best two players in the country. She was selected to the Swedish All Star team from 2009-11, winning MVP in 2010.
