Michael Weber Wins MAC Men?s Swimmer of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. - Junior Michael Weber (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) has been named the Mid-American Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week after leading Ball State to the Butler Invitational title on Sunday in Indianapolis.
One week after helping Ball State defeat Eastern Illinois, 181-87, at
Lewellen Aquatic Center, Ball State defeated Xavier (697) and Valparaiso (229)
during the one-day event at HRC Pool with a final score of 730.
Weber posted the Cardinals' first victory in the 100 back with a time of 51.83 and added a win in the 50 free, clocking in at 21.51.
He also added a second-place finish in the 200 back (1:53.48) and joined seniors Chris Krupa (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike), Gavin McNeeley (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) and Casey Schroeder (Williamsport, Ind./Seeger Memorial) on the second-place 200 medley relay to clock in at 1:36.30.
Versus the Redbirds Friday, Weber combined with McNeeley, Krupa and Schroeder to help BSU tally its first victory in the 200 medley relay, clocking in at 1:34.54. Weber then tallied first-place finishes in the 100 back (52.72) and 200 back (1:56.86).
Weber and the Cardinals return to action Saturday as Ball State hosts MAC foe Miami (OH) at 1 p.m. from Lewellen Aquatic Center.
