Scouting Ball State: The Ball State University women's basketball team is coming off of a 50-43 win over Northern Illinois Wednesday night improving its overall record to 7-9 and going 2-1 in Mid-American Conference action. Ball State put four players in double figures in the victory led by Jazmin Hitchens with 11 points. Grossnickle, Jordan Huber and Brandy Woody added 10 points apiece. Hitchens and Brittany Carter led the Cardinals with six rebounds apiece.
Scouting Central Michigan: Central Michigan enters Saturday's contest with an overall record of 10-7 and a league mark of 2-1 after defeating Western Michigan at home Wednesday night by a score of 93-85. The Chippewas have two players averaging double figures this season Crystal Bradford leads the squad with 15.4 points per game while Jessica Green is averaging 12.4 per contest. Bradford is also the top rebounder with 7.5 boards per game.
The Coaches: Ball State head coach Kelly Packard is in her fourth season at Ball State . . . Packard's overall record at Ball State is 56-55 (.504), while her Mid-American Conference mark is 27-24 . . . Sue Guevara is in her fifth season at Central Michigan. . . Guevara's overall record at CMU is 66-73 and she owns a MAC record of 29-37 . . . Guevara is a familiar face with Ball State women's basketball as she was an assistant coach for the Cardinals in 1985-86.
The Series: This is the 63rd meeting between Ball State and Central Michigan . . . The series is tied between the two schools' 31-31 . . . This is the second time Ball State will play in CMU's new venue the McGuirk Arena . . . The last time BSU won on the road at Central Michigan was Feb. 22 by a score of 71-67 in 2009 . . . Both teams split at their respective venues last season, Ball State won at Worthen Arena (86-77) and Central Michigan defeated the Cardinals (81-66).
