"Passing the Mic" with Katie Hawkins

Katie Hawkins, a member of the Ball State athletics media relations staff, provides insight into the Cardinals football program with "Passing the Mic".
This segment features defensive line coach Chad Wilt, who is in his first season as an assistant coach at Ball State. Wilt came to the Cardinals after serving as an assistant coach at Liberty, Virginia and Richmond.
A native of East Central, Ind., Wilt graduated from Eastbrook High School in Marion, Ind., and earned his bachelor's degree from Taylor in 2000. A three-time all-conference student-athlete at Taylor in Upland, Ind., located about 25 minutes north of Muncie, Wilt was a two-time All-American at defensive end. He played for his father, Steve Wilt, who was the head football coach at Taylor from 1994-2005.
