Scouting Ball State: The Ball State women's basketball team celebrates New Year's Eve as it hosts Marshall, Saturday in Worthen Arena at 4 p.m. The game is part of a double-header with the Ball State men's basketball team who will play Chicago State at 2 p.m. The Ball State women's basketball team enters Saturday's contest with an overall record of 5-7. The Cardinals last game resulted in an 80-39 road loss to No. 14/18 Wisconsin-Green Bay. For the game junior guard Shanee' Jackson led the team in scoring with nine points while teammate sophomore forward Katie Murphy chipped in eight points on the night. Defensively freshman guard Shelbie Justice led Ball State with six rebounds.
Scouting Marshall: The Thundering Herd come to Ball State with an overall record of 8-3 and are 3-2 on the road. Marshall won its last contest at Tennessee Tech 73-68 Thursday. The Thundering Herd is led by Jasmine Shaw with 8.1 points per game along with teammates Erica Woods and Shynisha Johnson who both contribute 7.5 ppg. Defensively, Woods leads the team with 6.9 rebounds per game. Marshall has faced three schools' from the MAC this season. The Thundering Herd defeated Kent State (93-55) while suffering losses to Miami (OH) (56-49) and Ohio University (68-56).
