Soccer's Jasmine Moses Earns MAC Weekly Honors
October 10, 2011 | Soccer
MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State soccer freshman forward Jasmine Moses (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) has been named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. This is the first weekly honor of Moses' career and she becomes the third different Cardinal this season to win MAC weekly honors joining Pavla Benyrova (Sept. 5) and Brigit Reder (Sept. 12).
Moses helped the Cardinals extend their unbeaten streak to five straight games with a 1-0-1 record as she scored two goals on the weekend. She scored her team and league-leading fourth game-winning goal of the year Friday afternoon in the Cardinals' 2-1 victory over Akron, finding the back of the net in the 86th minute of play. Her four game-winning goals rank second all-time in Ball State single-season history, just two shy of the record six game-winning goals by Dee Nocero in 2003.
Moses followed that effort up Sunday afternoon scoring her team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 1-1 tie against Ohio. Despite not playing the first two games of the year, her seven goals rank second in the MAC this season and seventh all-time in BSU single-season scoring.
Moses and the Cardinals return to action with a pair of home games this weekend as they host Buffalo Friday afternoon and Kent State Sunday at the Briner Sports Complex.
