"The girls have come back to Muncie ready to start off the season strong," said Bader. "We have had a great start with practices and believe we are ready for our first weekend of matches. I am looking forward to our first test on Thursday against Wright State. We saw this team a great deal this fall. Then it will be exciting to go to Bloomington on Sunday to take on a talented IU squad. I believe the team was also inspired this past weekend with Lori Mallory, the first women's tennis player to be inducted into the hall of fame. It is an exciting time for our program."
The Cardinals return seven letterwinners, while welcoming one newcomer Kristel Sanders. Last season senior Hayley Hall earned the Leann Grimes Davidge Sportsmanship Award which is awarded through the Mid-American Conference.
Ball State plays seven straight matches on the road until they return home Sunday, February 13 when it hosts Oakland at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center beginning at 10 a.m.
