Men's S&D Set For IUPUI Relays Monday

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team will visit the IUPUI Natatorium for the second them this season, when it travels to Indianapolis Monday for the IUPUI Relays. Action in the meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
In addition to making a return trip to the IUPUI Natatorium, the Cardinals will be battling the host Jaguars for the third time this season. In the first meeting, the Cardinals scored 770 points to win the six-time IUPUI House of Champions meet Nov. 12-13, 2010. IUPUI placed third in the event with 506.5 points.
Less than a month later, the two squads meet again at the EMU Invitational Dec. 3-4, 2010. BSU placed fourth overall at the nine team meet with 509 points, while the Jaguars finished fifth with 221 points.
Ball State enters the meet with 13 student athletes ranked in the top 20 in their respective events among Mid-American Conference swimmers & divers.
Junior Chris Krupa (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike H.S.) is BSU's top-ranked swimmer, holding the No. 8 slot in both the 100 (50.74) and 200 (1:54.19) butterfly events. He also ranks 12th in the conference in the 200 IM (1:56.26) and 13th in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.50).
Junior Gavin McNeeley (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester H.S.) also holds a No. 8 ranking in the MAC in the 100 breaststroke (58.81) and the No. 11 slot in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.1).
