
WBB Earns 78-62 Road Win At Western Michigan

Junior forward Emily Maggert earned her 20th career double-double season after leading Ball State with 18 points while pulling down 13 rebounds. Other Cardinals in double figures were senior guard Audrey McDonald with 14 and sophomore center Amber Crago chipped in 12.
As a team the Cardinals 50 percent from the field while outrebounding the Broncos 37 to 29.
Ball State's 7-0 run at the start of the second half gave the Cardinals a 40-27 edge over Western Michigan which started with a jumper in the paint by Maggert.
Western Michigan answered back with a 7-0 run of its own with 13:08 on the clock to make it a 47-38 ball game.
McDonald snapped the Broncos streak with her third three point basket of the day with just over 12 minutes remaining in the contest.
Senior forward Danielle Gratton hit a quick trey on a break to put Ball State up 66-44 with 7:44 left to play in the game, Crago also helped the cause with a layup just seconds before Gratton's basket.
The Cardinals jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the first half over the Broncos which was sparked by McDonald's three pointer just minutes into the contest.
At the 13:07 mark Ball State had built an 11-point cushion (16-5) after strong defense holding the Broncos scoreless for over four minutes.
The Broncos came to within six (20-14) with 8:44 remaining in the first period but Ball State managed to hold onto to its early advantage to end the half up 31-24 over Western Michigan.
Ball State will host Northern Illinois Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Worthen Arena.
